Announcement | A Universe From Nothing A Text Adventure Game Now On Itch

The first game release for us happens to be a side project that was started a week ago. For a while now I’ve wanted to do something simple regarding a text-based adventure where the player can choose different options as a way to explore things. This resulted in checking out a narrative-driven tool for creating text-based games.

Brief Information About The Text Adventure Game

The character the player controls finds himself in a world where he has no clue how he got there or even who exactly he is. All he knows for certain is he is near death with his spacesuit low on power.

Throughout this short adventure, the player finds and repairs a ship. Has some run-in with hostile, friendly, and intent unknown individuals.  All while finding strange things happening that others in the universe don’t seem to notice.

This is a casual game where most paths lead in a linear direction. I did not want to get carried away with wide sweeping story arcs that would have taken many months to work out and weave into the storyline. This was just a simple project I wanted to get out and see where it leads.

Where To Play

A Universe From Nothing A Text Adventure Game can be played in a web browser on Itch for free.

There is no microtransaction or anything.  Payments and donations are disabled on that game's page.

Content Working On This Side Project

Final Thoughts

It was fun to get something out that was simple. My main project is quite complex and will take years to finish. I did have plans to work on a varying array of different length games. With this one out of the way, I’ll be taking a look at other things I have in the pipeline and pick a new side project. Each having its own role in benefiting from the main game I’m working on while also having a takeaway for myself to further advance it and other projects.

Outside of some light bug fixes if needed or slight changes. I do not expect to do anything further to this project.
